(Cecile, Cecily) [2nd-3rd Century] is the patron of music, musicians and poetry. She is one of the most famous and revered of the martyred Roman maidens. According to her legend, she was betrothed against her will. During her wedding feast, while the wedding music was playing, she sang songs to God. She persuaded her husband to respect her vow of celibacy. Martyred, she left her house as a church for the Christians. She is shown with her guardian angel, the palm of martyrdom, and with her symbol, the organ. Her Feast is November 22.
