(Roberto, Rupert, Hrodbert) [1542-1621] joined the Jesuits at 18. In his youth, he was a professor of Greek, Hebrew and Theology at Louvain. He was the most effective theologian of his time in the Church"šs conflict with Protestantism. He became Rector of the Roman College, was made a cardinal and Archbishop of Capua. Later he returned to Rome as head of the Vatican Library and advisor to the popes. He is a Doctor of the Church and patron of catechists and canon lawyers. His feast is September 17.
